I saw the experiments on SKY and have to agree with you both, the ball does seem to play a big part in the game, but I believe the slower tempo of the continental game suits the lighter ball and the heavier ball is more suited to our English game which is still dominated by kick and rush.

However, the fact that we play with the lighter ball in International matches is just an excuse for the fact that our players are not good enough to win on the National competitions
