No not at all, just that you dont know what your talking about really and I never said it was the only reason why we don't win.
Simple maths darling heaviest football in use in England is 480g. World cup footballs are 410g
That over 10% difference in weight. Thats pretty massive at top level. The more expert you become the more slight changes effect you!
If your work went up by 10% would it effect you? |

I agree that it will be very hard for him but most kids play 'soccer' at school till there 14 or 15 and then stop because they see the riches the big stars get in other sports and they aim for that. Remember the USA is a very young country and the all american dream is to come from nothing to being fantastically rich. Money rules and Beckham getting this massive contract will only be a drop in the ocean to the money spent on advertising and marketing the sport.
A pint says in a years time the sport will be bigger than it is now. |

Ah ferret, I may not have been old enough to witness it but i am more than aware of it.
There is one massive difference between now and then.....Marketing. Back in the 70's (your era by the sounds of it ferret ) they didn't really have to much of a clue about how to market things. Now they do and have the technology to spread this throughout the whole world in a second, and with someone as good footballing wise and pretty (ahem voice depens) I think the results will shock us all! |

| So your saying that all the clips on sky were complete s**t then? Some of the balls have a weight difference of 60 grams, that makes a huge difference to how the ball behaves in the air. The more elite you become the more tiny differences effect your game. |

Given the debate about footballs being lighter and the massive difference in the way different balls move, as shown on sky sports earlier in the year. Do you think it effects who wins the world cup/european championships, when you consider that in england we play with the nike ball other countries, including brazil, play with adidas balls and adidas are the sole provider for balls for the major competitions.
It must provide a massive difference to be used to how the ball moves and feels surely? Watching the sky sports clips again and seeing how the coca-cola cup, fa cup, championship and premier league balls varied in movement, weight and speed how can we not consider this when it comes to major tournaments. Getting a feel for the ball in the week before a tournament is not enough time considering it is a major factor in the game.

Beckham is a hero. Someone who always come back when people doubt him the most. I fully expect 'Soccer' to now take off in the USA. I think Beckham is doing a great thing for world football. Sure the league sucks and is probably about as good a standard as womens football, but without people trying to improve it it will lever get better.
What would you all be saying if he signed for a championship side with a view of trying to improve that league and the view people have of it?
David Beckham, hero, pioneer, best right foot in the game! |

| typical example of throwing money at something and hoping it fixes it. Once barton left i think the only thing they needed ay city was good honest hard work on the training ground. Something I dont think Sven would be capable of either, to much of the softly softly approach |
